8th Grade Pop Art Prints

8th graders create a print with foam and cardboard, dip the print in tempera paint, and press on colored squares to emulate the style of Andy Warhol.

This is typically an elementary project, but I wanted to see how far 8th graders would take it and see how detailed it would get.  They turned out pretty well.  They used unsharpened pencils dipped in paint to make dots on colored paper.

8th Grade Altered Books








8th graders made recyclable art out of old books with mixed media.

5th Grade Okeeffe Flowers



5th graders used chalk pastels to create cropped, Georgia Okeeffe inspired drawings.

4th Grade Totems

4th graders made three dimensional totem poles out of paper.

5th Grade Shoe Drawings



5th graders brought in their favorite pair of shoes and drew them with pencil, marker, and colored pencil.  Mounted on construction paper.

1st Grade Guided Self-Portraits

1st grade guided self-portraits.  I drew proportions on the document camera while students followed.  Students used mirrors to make the portraits look like themselves.
